![]() ![]() This is but ONE major problem in the game of DOTA that needs to stop. So what does that support player do? They copy the carry hero that did that to them. Was the support hero trying to help his team win? In his/her own mind yes but the game "intuitively" tells them by the reporting system that an ally of theirs can ruin a game and that THEY will be ultimately blamed for it. New players will quickly become accustomed to stealing a few creeps from a safelane carry and watching the carry walk up the lane and feed repeatedly. New players aren't accustomed to certain obscure things like buying a shadow amulet and going afk. You have players "socialized" to the behavior of the game. The only thing they seem to be good at now is removing those problematic "smurfs" but at the same time without modifying their reporting system they are doomed to repeat yet another problem because smurfing wasn't the actual problem, it was a symptom of a much larger problem. ![]() So are you "toxic" if you have sentiments on why your team lost a game?Ī game must have players to be able to function having a ladder/MMR system. In every game there is a support hero on a team that lost. In every game there is a safe lane carry that fails to carry. There are "toxic players" in every game because the solution to every problem is to blame the person who caused the loss. isn't it funny how everyone thought that "smurfing" was the problem when really it was the revolving door that is the report system? Toxic players actually being held accountable for their behavior and not being able to abuse multiple Steam accounts, that's an improvement. Toxic players just juggling multiple Steam accounts, that's not good. After all, there are so many people on this forum complaining about how *everyone else* is toxic, so I think most of us agree that toxic players are bad. And I think that's why Valve is starting to roll this out. ![]()
